Sunday, Oct 31st, 3-4pm, parade @ 4:00, 106 Cardinal Glen Cir.
Costume contest for cutest, scariest & most original.
Some food and drinks provided, other food welcome.
Damaging storms 2 Sundays in a row...better check your homeowner's insurance;-}
Our deepest sympathies to the family of Eric Lawson, who was killed by a falling branch at Claude Moore Park,
less than a mile from Cardinal Glen.
...on 22may was a rousing success! The prize for highest gross1 goes to lot 36 (location, location, location;-)
but the prize for last open2 goes to lot 97...Coloma Ct was crawling...anybody have pix?
1 - based on my post-sale bike survey;-)
2 - pictures coming;-)
Two days after, a winter wonderland in Great Falls, VA.
Another beautiful day after...
Tuesday's was a_real_blizzard, unlike
last w/e's dump,
which had no winds... we're getting 40mph gusts, w/resulting whiteouts...film @ 11;-)
Unlike the pre-Christmas debacle, our circle has been plowed & kept
open... unfortunately, we got 4-foot snowbanks at the ends of our driveways.
First place for clearing their sidewalk well before
the 48-hour legal requirement goes to 510 CGC.
Congrats to our good neighbors @
Oxford House!
And our neighbors to the east in Westerley were busy, too...
But it was a beautful day after...
Board Members Elected
The Annual Meeting of the Homeowner's Association,
Sections 1&2, was held on Monday, January 25th, 2010,
and all current board members were re-elected,
as well as 2 write-in candidates.
We welcome first-time members Megan Huszagh and Lawrence DeWaard to the board!
The Grounds Committee oversaw the removal of 6 dead trees on common ground behind the 500 block of the circle on 17dec09.
Thanks to Charlie Hawkins Tree Service and board member Mary Kipps for their continued efforts to maintain our common ground.
Previously, a number of dead trees were dropped in Section F...seasoned oak firewood, free for the cutting.
You may have noticed the work being done on the Waverly common ground drainage project,
just to the east of our parcel D common ground (on the right as you enter.)
The construction crew finished today and, as promised,
restored our common ground where they had accessed the Waverly property,
thanks to Jose Rivera of the Kauffman Group and his crew.
Sections 4->2 drainage issues were investigated following June's torrential downpours...I measured 4" in 1 hour.
Steve Plante from General Services, Loudoun County, and several boardmembers
looked at Parcel F of the
common ground and the stormwater runoff issues (marked in
red.)
Read the action report from this month's Board of Supervisors' meeting.
There will be a Homeowners' Association Forum at Cascades Library from 7-8:30 p.m. on 12May.
Any questions, call Supervisor Susan Klimek Buckley's office: 703-771-5033.
Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the homeowners' association took place Monday, 26 Jan 09.
The board members were all re-elected.
As you may have noticed, last year's drought killed all but 4 of our beautiful cherry trees.
The boards have been working on the problem and have gotten bids on replacements.
The first step, removing the dead trees,
has been accomplished.
Comments are always welcome.
Annual Meeting
The annual HOA meeting was held
on Monday, January 28th, and all board members were
re-elected.
Update:
The entrance wall is fixed!
And the Bahai church has opened.
